Dominion Day (novella)
Set in 1935 Stockton, a small Alberta prairie town whose residents are doing their best to survive the years of the Great Depression. With Canada's national Dominion Day holiday quickly approaching, a series of very odd events begin taking place just outside of town. Inexplicably strange landscapes, some presumably from eons past, others from a yet unknown future ring the town cutting off any outside contact. Worse yet, each bizarre vista appear to harbor its own unique dangers. As these phenomena close in on the tiny community, only one thing is certain, they will all converge within Stockton, July 1, 1935 - Dominion Day.

Paleopath (novella)

  • The U.S. Secretary of State discusses aspects of the Biological Weapons Convention with an angry Russian ambassador.

  • In Izmir Turkey a young woman prepares to drive a car to Marseille, France unaware it carries a hidden cargo; a hi-tech aerosol disperser designed for the efficient release of a chemical or biological payload.

  • A C.I.A. Chief informs the U.S. Secretary of State that a significant quantity of Sarin nerve gas has disappeared from an Iraq weapons bunker and may be in the hands of terrorists.

Meanwhile on the tiny volcanic island of Tristan da Cunha, the captain of a small freighter discovers there is no one to take delivery of his cargo. On nearby St. Helena, Authorities declare an island wide quarantine and a Canadian contingent under the auspices of the World Health Organization is dispatched to investigate. Upon arriving, the W.H.O. team discovers every man, woman and child on the island dead because of seemingly unrelated diseases! Has a rogue government chosen the remote island as an experimental test site for its new biological agent or does a natural disaster lurk in the weeds? Either way, investigators are about to unravel a mystery that poses a very real and terrifying threat to the very existence of the human race.
