​​​Stephen G. Kirk writes light horror and speculative fiction that explores the uneasy edges of technology, society, human identity, and the unknown. His work often blends familiar settings with darker possibilities, asking what may happen when science, artificial intelligence, social systems, or human ambition move beyond their intended limits. Across novels and shorter fiction, the emphasis remains on story first, with speculative ideas used to create tension, uncertainty, and a lingering sense that the world may be stranger than it appears.​

In another life, Steve enjoyed his tenure while a member of the Calgary Police Service. Now retired, Mr. Kirk resides in southern Alberta with his lovely wife. His greatest passions are of course family, although he also enjoys strumming his guitar, engaging in a bit of songwriting and an eternal love of amateur astronomy.
